Michaela qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1994 (achieving a top ten place in the country). She enjoys going to the gym, shopping and cooking. Michaela is predominantly based at our Burton office.

David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997, receiving the R J Weston Fund prize for the highest scoring candidate in the Derby area. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. David is married with three children. David is predominantly based at our Burton office.

Callum Edwards ACA

Callum qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2020. He enjoys all aspects of accounting, audit and tax and has an excellent knowledge of cloud-based accounting packages. Callum is a big supporter of all things tech and is our in house computer geek. Callum enjoys going to the gym, playing golf, travelling and spending time with his family (especially his dog).Steven Grew FCCA

Steve qualified as an accountant in 2003 and has a particular bias towards tax planning and investigations.Steve has a teenage daughter. He enjoys playing darts and is a Derby County Football Club supporter. He is also a member of the Round Table, and in April 2018 he finished his term as President.

Mariya attended a Business University in Ukraine before moving to the UK and attending college in London where she studied for AAT Level 2 whilst working as a book-keeper/accounts assistant. Mariya relocated to Derby and joined us in February 2017. She enjoys baking, reading, going to the gym and gardening.Clair Mathews

Jay recently passed his Level 3 AAT and is currently studying for his Level 4, which is on track for completion in 2024. Jay then hopes to go on and study for his ICAEW exams to enable him to become a Chartered Accountant. In his spare time, Jay enjoys watching and playing a range of sports including football and cricket, and also enjoys going to the gym. Jay's favourite team is Leicester City, but their recent form has made him think twice about this.Mark Shorthouse ACCA
Accounting Team
Mark joined us in October 2012 and is AAT qualified, as well as having passed all of the ACCA exams. He is a keen hockey player and plays for Burton Hockey Club. Mark also coaches children between the ages of 8 and 13 for the Burton Hockey Academy, and has in the past been involved in managing the Under 14s Derbyshire Boys Hockey team (County level). Mark also enjoys watching sport, particularly football, and has an interest in wildlife.
